**This has been documented to work on the 2.4L SS with an aftermarket intake. It was fit on one with an Injen CAI.

A self-contained elastomeric shock that mounts on brackets between the engine and the chassis.  It reduces extreme engine movement and dampens the motion, providing many benefits.  The “Stiffy” was originally intended for the sport compact market, but can be used for some Hot Rod* applications if it is applied correctly.

Benefits:
  • Greatly improved off-the-line acceleration
  • Reduced wheel hop
  • Improved vehicle stability
  • Reduced shock loads on driveline components
  • Smoother shifting
  • Reduced wear on exhaust system joints
  • Less vibration transmission to the driver compared to polyurethane motor mounts.
  • Less shock load, compared to torque straps and chains.
  • Drifting – helps reduce shock loads when wheels gain traction.
  • Reduces motor movement – decreases the chance of motor parts rubbing against the hood and frame.
Specs: Overall length (mount to mount) = 7 inches (+/-1/4 inch adjustment), Mounting hole size = 10 mm (.3937 … approx. 3/8 inch), Maximum stroke = +/-3/8 inch (no preload), Preload adjustment = 0 – 3/16 inch (max stroke = +/- ¼ inch at max preload), Maximum shock load (momentary) = 2000 lbs., Maximum continuous load = 500 lbs., High quality hardened steel reinforced Teflon Heim joints, Body: 6061-T6 Aluminum, Finish: clear silver anodize, Maximum Recommended HP = 500 with Energy Suspension or Solid Mounts.
*Many of these applications pull up on the drivers side motor mount (see diagram).  Chains and torque straps are used to limit motion.  The chain is not a good solution, the engine moves freely and then stops suddenly when the chain is extended.  This can cause high shock loads and broken motor blocks.
Because there are so many different motor/chassis combinations and high amounts of horsepower, it is important to correctly apply this product to prevent premature failure.  The ETD should be used as a “helper”, not the primary means of limiting motor movement.  Mounting brackets should be heavy gauge to limit flex and prevent harmonic resonance.  Before the ETD is installed, cable or string should be placed between the mounting points to measure the maximum deflection.  If the total travel exceeds ¾ inch, alternative mounting solutions may be needed to avoid damage (use multiple torque dampers, move the bracket mounts closer to the motor pivot axis, use stiffer motor mounts, etc.).

Helps alot with engine movement and tighter shifting. Wheelhop is a thing of the past. Fits perfectly.
